In response to the earthquake, the first welfare and relief effort by LDF was the preparation of database for the hospitals of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Need for the database had arisen for assessing the level of medical coverage. The database was also instrument in planning and follow-up. As a next step LDF volunteers started Psycho behavior sessions. An extensive relief effort was launched to deliver relief packages to worst hit areas of Muzzafarabad,   Neelum Valley and District Bagh.
